Cabbage Patch Kids - November 10, 2023
The story about how three little girls and their cabbage patch evolved over 2½ years.
All of the images from my Cabbage Patch Kids series are as cute as can be, but the above version is certainly the BEST and the CUTEST of them all! I had to wait though for 2½ years to finally create it, and here is the story why...
Cabbage Patch Kids - November 10, 2023
When I created the above image back in November of '23, I instantly fell in love with it. Those little girls were adorable, and I was so impressed that the AI 'thought' to add cabbage-like features to their hats, which I don't think I would have ever thought to do. It was a keeper!
Of course there were issues with the image. Back then there was pretty much ALWAYS issues involved when creating AI images. The middle little girl's hands were quite messed up, some of the cabbages were growing on stalks, (which I'm pretty sure they don't), and the eyes of the right girl irritated me.
Regardless of the issues, I published the image, and got the confirmation that others felt the same about it as I did. My cute little girls with cabbage bonnets were a huge success!
Cabbage Patch Kids - Part 2 - December 20, 2024
It had always been my intention to re-visit old favorites and 'upgrade' them as Artificial Intelligence improved and my editing skills improved along with it. I got my first chance to do so with this image back in December of '24.
It was indeed an improvement from the first image, adding much needed details. The girls' eyes all looked much better, but I still had cabbages sitting upon stalks, and the center girl's hands were still messed up. In fact, I remember specifically placing my watermark over her hands to try and hide the issue!
Also, the center girl's hat had become much more noticeable that it didn't match the others girls' hats, and was made from blue material instead of a cabbage leaf.
WHATEVER! I published it again anyway, and still got rave reviews! Apparently, cute little girls in a cabbage patch was a winning combination!
Cabbage Patch Kids - Part 3 - May 14, 2026
Finally, on May 13th of 2026, I decided to try my luck at improving this image again. I decided to feed 'Part 2' through ChatGPT2 and see what I could do. I got a similar image to what we see above, but the center girl STILL had a blue material hat/bonnet, so I spent the following morning editing in the cabbage leaf that always belonged there.
It's a long story about why it took me HOURS to get that cabbage leaf wrapped around her head, so I'll spare you of the details, but the important thing to note is that I finally managed it!
Gone are the stalks that the cabbages used to sit on, (at least we don't see them now), and I also decided to add smiles to the girls' faces, which I'm surprised took me this long to do.
I think I am finally DONE with this image, but who knows what the future holds? As I mentioned on my Facebook Post, maybe I'll find a need to see these girls in a red cabbage field, or perhaps they might end up in a broccoli patch instead! Only time will tell : )
