About "X"

Hello, my name is Robb Schmidt. If we've met previously online somewhere, you probably know me better as Mister X, or more commonly just as "X".

I've been creating digital artwork online for over 20 years. During this time I've been to many different places and done many different things to create my images, but I've never been more fascinated or entertained while creating online as I am now with Artificial Intelligence.

Like all A.I. artists, my adventure began by learning how to write prompts, and then by learning how to write GREAT prompts! After all, if there is any actual 'art' found within A.I. images that are made from just words, then that 'art' is found within those words themselves.

Then I found myself editing my prompt-made images. This was done out of necessity as the A.I. models I was using at the time were still quite primitive and regularly producing all sorts of unwanted deformities! I found that adding some crude edits, (the only kind I am capable of making), worked just fine for me, as I would then feed the edited image back through the A.I. and it would fiX them right up for me!

This lead to how I am currently creating with A.I., adding objects where I want them to be and removing the things I don't like that the A.I. has placed within my images. Sometimes I make a collage of images to use as my visual prompt to feed into the A.I. and then have it follow my written and visual instructions closely to get the image that I want from it.

I now have control over my A.I. compositions that I never thought was possible when I first started using articial intelligence to make images with. I use a combination of my written words, edited images, my imagination, and of course a bit of the AI's imagination as well!

This website, MisterX.ca, is documenting my artistic adventures with A.I., and the evolution of my artwork as I continue to learn and eXperiment. I also publish articles and instructions here along the way.

You'll find my newest creations at the top of the front page, which shows my latest 'ColleXion' that is in the process of being made. My completed ColleXions, which go back in time to when I first started with A.I., can be found in the menu.
