Starting
with image #2, each picture is created by zooming into a section of the
previous image. A thumbnail is provided so you can see where
this
was done from. A brief eXplanation is given under each image so the
viewer can get a 'feel' for what they are viewing. ENJOY! "X"

MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 1 - "THE COMPLETE SET"
Above
we see the 'complete' Mandelbrot Set. This is the 'spider', 'bug',
or 'cactus' shape that continues to emerge throughout the entire Set.
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 2 - "SEAHORSE VALLEY"
Zooming
into the 'neck' of the Mandelbrot Set, we can see detail displaying infinitely
more 'bugs'. This area is known as "Seahorse Valley".
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 3 - "SEAHORSE VALLEY ZOOM"
A
closer look at "Seahorse Valley" shows us how it got this name. It
eXposes unlimited spirals that resemble the spirals of seahorse tails.
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 4 - "SEAHORSE CLOSE UP"
Continuing
our zoom, ever more detail is revealed. Here we see 'mini-mandelbrots'
appearing amongst the organized "clutter" of INFINITY.
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 5 - "SEAHORSE TAIL"
The
SPIRAL is a reoccurring shape in the Mandelbrot Set. It is just one
of many ways images from FRACTALS can invoke thoughts of nature.
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 6 - "SEAHORSE DE-TAIL"
Closer
eXamination of the 'seahorse tail' might leave the viewer thinking this
area of the Set is composed entirely of SPIRALS....
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 7 - "MANDELBROT SATELLITE"
...but
zooming in further shows yet another "spider-bug-cactus" Mandelbrot Set
shape appear. The new bug is a new "universe" to eXplore.
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 8 - "MANDELBROT SATELLITE ZOOM"
Although
very similar to image #1, this new 'satellite' is a complete individual.
New variations will appear within it, and ALL OTHER satellites.
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 9 - "MANDELBROT SATELLITE & ANTENNA"
Once
again limitless more Mandelbrots can be found along the boundaries of the
horizon and along the 'antenna' of this new mandelbrot bug
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 10 - "SATELLITE'S SEAHORSE VALLEY"
Mega
mini mandelbrots once again litter the horizon, and zooming in on any one
of them would reveal a similar scene, yet be subtly individual.
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 11 - "SEAHORSE VALLEY 2"
Once
again we find ourselves in an area that resembles the pictures seen above
in images number 3 & 4, but this scene has something more.
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 12 - "DOUBLE SPIRAL TAILS"
The
"sky" is now filled with additional spirals resembling Julia Sets. These
'Julia Islands' are all similar, yet each an individual like the bugs.
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 13 - "JULIA ISLAND"
As
with other parts of the Mandelbrot Set, the viewer can choose any point
on the plane for further investigation and can 'zoom in' to infinity.
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 14 - "JULIA ISLAND ZOOM"
Here
we see a Julia Satellite emerge. Its differing colors from the rest of
the environment makes it stand out and demand further investigation.
MANDELBROT
SET IMAGE 15 - "JULIA ISLAND SATELLITE"
Again
we see endless swirls or 'seahorse tails', but if we continued our zoom
we would also find an endless amount of more 'bugs' to eXplore.
